Veterans Aid & Assistance Program
This little-known government program pays veterans and their spouses up to $1,950 per month to help cover the cost of all levels of senior living services.
The general requirements are:
- The veteran was discharged with any status other than dishonorable.
- The veteran served at least 90 days of active duty, with at least one day during a wartime period.
- The veteran’s combined family income is below a certain level.
This benefit is available to veterans as well as their widow(er); however, if the veteran is deceased, the widow(er) cannot have remarried. Essentially, this benefit may cover a significant portion of your monthly service fee at Somerby.
We encourage you to consult with our knowledgeable staff to clarify whether you qualify for this valuable benefit. We have all the necessary forms, and we’ll help you apply to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
